SPECIAL STITCHES

Double Crochet (dc): Yarn over hook, insert hook into indicated st (knitwise (between front and back vertical bar) or front vertical bar as specified), yarn over and pull up a loop, yarn over and draw through 2 loops on hook.

Tunisian Simple Stitch (TSS): Insert hook from right to left into front vertical bar of next st, yarn over and pull up a loop.

Tunisian Knit Stitch (TKS): Insert hook between front and back vertical bar of next st, yarn over and pull up a loop.

Tunisian Reverse Stitch (TRS): Insert hook from right to left into back vertical bar of next st on the wrong side (or back of work), yarn over and pull up a loop. This pushes the return pass to the front of the work creating a purl-like look.

“Work Loops off as normal” Yarn over and draw through 1 loop on hook, *yarn over, pull through 2 loops on hook; repeat from * to end.

“Knitwise” : Insert hook between front and back vertical bars of next st to complete your stitch.

NOTES

  • It is easier to count the stitches of the while working the forward pass of the next row, instead of counting them while working the return pass. Be aware that the stitch or loop count is very different when working the lace section of this play.
  • The project increases at the beginning of each forward pass and decreases at the beginning of each return pass.
  • Project continues on the last row of Play 3 still working on the bias.
  • When working the sequence (yo, DC), yarn over twice before you insert your hook for the DC. Be careful not to keep yarn over and pulling through when completely the DC. Make sure you have the extra loop on your hook from the yo as a stitch. See video tutorial for more information.
