What is a Bento Bag
Bento bags are a popular Japanese style of bag. Tied closed, they stuff easily into any other bag. Opened wide, they sit squarely on their flat bottoms. Folded flat, they take up so little space you can’t imagine they’d hold much at all.
Making A Crochet Bento Bag
Bento bags typically consists of two triangle pieces stitched together, so you can easily modify your bag depending on your triangle sizes. For this pattern we will be making three squares and sewing them together to construct the bag.
This method of construction will allow your crochet bento bag to sit flat on the bottom making it a great project bag or market bag. Because we don’t have the points of the two triangles for this bag we will be adding a handle section to two of the squares. Be sure to watch my video tutorial below to learn how to do this for your own bag.
