Marly had a special sit down at the Craftsy studios in Denver today with the folks from Craftsy, Josh Scott and John Levisay! And what a fun time! We learned so much about Craftsy, the background, the inspiration, the implementation, and now…the BOOM.
Craftsy has made a huge impression on the crafting world, in a very short period of time. Not only do they offer classes in crochet and knitting, but cake decorating, food crafting, holiday, home and garden, jewelry, paper crafts, quilting, sewing, spinning and weaving! (Whew!) Plus, they have a great shop where you can search for that perfect yarn, or fabric, as well as there is a pattern store for independent designers to sell their patterns.
Josh and John broke Marly’s standing record of prizes given away in one podcast, by giving away not 1, not 3, not 5, but SEVEN free online Craftsy classes to lucky callers!! What on earth to do with all those classes?? (New crafty obsession anyone?)
The even more fun thing is, Josh and John aren’t done yet, and are still giving away two MORE classes! One via Marly’s facebook page (click here), and one right here on MarlyBird.com.
For the giveaway on Marly’s facebook page, leave a comment on her page, and she will be picking that winner on Friday (3/22/13).For the giveaway here on MarlyBird.com, leave a comment here with the keyword from today’s podcast. The winner will be chosen in three weeks.
As we all know, Marly has 3 classes on Craftsy, and they are listed here for you, as well as a library of patterns, and that link is listed below for you as well.

Wow! I would love to win a Craftsy class.
Love your podcast Marly I think Craftsy Classes are a fantastic idea, it allows me access in Scotland to tutors I could only dream of taking classes with. I’ve got your knitting classes and have made my first pair of gloves, I was unsure how to knit the fingers until I watched your class.
Very interesting show! I have taken a few Craftsy classes and welcome the chance to win another class.
Hi Marly, I love CRAFSTY! And now even more since your interview. These guys seem so genuine.
BTW: I don’t know if this is an appropriate place to mention it but I seem to have problems getting on your site. It takes a loooong time to load and then I get an error message maybe 3 out of 5 times. Thought you would like to know. Have a wonderful day.
You said it, WOW! This was a great show, thanks for getting Josh and John on to talk about Craftsy. I LOVE these classes and can’t wait to take more. The best thing about them is that you can take them whenever you want, you can learn at your own pace and keep watching it anytime you need a refresher. Thanks for another great show!
Crafty classes are GREAT! (I also liked your FB page!)
Loved the podcast. Very interesting to hear the guys from Craftsy. Would love to win a class.
My only problem with Craftsy is: so many classes–so little time!!
Love the craftsy Craftsy interview with the guys. Always great to hear from the men. I’m already signed up for several craftsy classes, and would love to take more. They’re great.
I agree: so many classes, so little time! I just worked through part of Gwen Bortner’s Entrelac Class. It’s so handy that I can do it on my own time and then repeat what I’ve forgotten. Listening to the Craftsy-men, I’m so happy for them and the rest of us that it seems to be so successful so that there will be many more classes planned. It’s a great concept! And Marly, I’m ready for Curvy Knits and the Gloves and Mittens show!
Great show! So interesting to hear how Craftsy got started!!
I’ve already got several Craftsy classes–some purchased, some free (the free ones are a great way to try them out!). But there is always room for another Craftsy class in my life. I love that this is a Denver business as well–nice to have good things happening in your own back yard!
I have been a part of Craftsy from before it officially became Craftsy. I have learned so much and really love the notetaking part of the platform.
My husband checks eBay motors every day and I check Craftsy every day! How amazing to see the same two guys feed both our obsessions. Had we known we would have invited them to our wedding. I’ve spent way more than I’ve budgeted for on Craftsy (more than 30 classes! Yikes!) so a free one or two might help me balance my budget ;-). Love Craftsy, recommend it to everyone. I’m Shikkitta on Craftsy and Ravelry.
I just took my first Craftsy class and can’t wait till I can take another. Especially since I need my next sweater to FIT!
Interesting podcast. Coincidentally, I just signed up for my first Craftsy class last week. I’d love to win one.
I’ve just stumbled upon your podcast this week. Knitting became my obsession in 2012, and now I have you and Craftsy to nurture it even further….thank you!
I’ve been signing up for every one of Craftsy’s Mystery KAL workshops so far (except for the first one), and I have learned so much! The projects have all been absolutely beautiful, the instructions are clear, and the instructors are very responsive! I love what these guys are doing!!
Great show! Craftsy is a wonderful place to learn new things & winning a class would be perfect since this summer I have to figure out how to make a wedding cake! 🙂
Wonderful,sparkling show. Big fun!
I have just discovered your podcasts and I’m enjoying them greatly. I’ve also done a couple of the Craftsy classes. I’m a knitter and a crocheter. Thank you for your podcast and for the classes too.
I just love Craftsy classes. I have 6 I think, but haven’t had time to work through all of them yet. I bought 2 for my mom for Christmas. She was a bit skeptical about how well it would go, but she likes them.
I have taken two craftsy classes and several mini classes and I love them. I have been knitting for many years and have enjoyed crocheting lately. I love your podcast and listen every week. Thank you!
I have taken two crochet classes on Craftsy and I love the ability to watch them when it is convenient to my schedule! The prices are great and the instruction superb! Can’t wait to take more- thanks for all your hard work.
I’ve been hearing so much about Craftsy. I’d love to give a class a try. I really appreciate all the thought that has gone into the site to benefit the users as well as the teachers. Enjoyed the interview!
I enjoyed hearing from the people behind Craftsy. I only recently discovered this great resource, and am looking forward to several classes I’ve bought during their spring sale. Thanks for the great interview!
Fun podcast! I enjoyed hearing from the guys behind Craftsy.
