Book Review of Wool Studio-Your KnitWear Capsule Wardrobe

Capsule wardrobes have been a trend that we have heard about. Interweave has worked with a set of designers to make a knit wear capsule wardrobe collection. The Wool Studio concept takes us back to basics, less is more. Just as a capsule wardrobe is built on a few basic pieces, Wool Stdio wants you to work on beautiful projects rather than trying to mass produce.

What is a Capsule Wardrobe:

A capsule wardrobe is a collection of a few essential items of clothing. Typically these are items that don’t go out of fashion. This could include skirts, trousers, and coats. Using the basic items with seasonal items gives you many options.

Wool Studio-The Knitwear Capsule Collection:

Starting off when you get this book in your hands you will notice that the size is different from many other books. Right from the beginning you know that it is something different. It really would be a great coffee table book because the images are beautiful.

Wool Studio-The Knitwear Capsule Wardrobe

Wool Studio was Interweaves’s first all digital look book series. Because so many people wanted a print version of the collections Interweave put together the first two collections into a beautiful book. Once you see the patterns in this book you will never want to put it back on your bookshelf.

Within the book you will find 21 patterns. The patterns in this book done in neutral colors. Using neutral colors allows you to picture the items the way that you would wear them. It is easier to start with neutral colors and then imagine them in another color vs. seeing them in a color first.

  1. Erica Jackson says:

If I had to choose one capsule piece, I would choose a cardigan. Cardigans can be worn in the summer or winter to dress up or dress down any piece of clothing. I love how versatile they are. I would love a chance to win this book and hopefully try some of these pieces for myself!

  2. Nancy Duff says:

Wow this book looks wonderful. I would love to make about everything pictured. I know if you make sweaters and shawls in different yarn you could have it for winter or summer.

  3. Tammy Todd says:

I’m slowing making my way into knitting more garments. I’m still working on my 2 first. A Tee for summer and a shirt for the fall early winter. I would love to try the one shown on the cover art of the book.

  4. Susan Oeltjen says:

I think having basics that never go out of style is a good idea. Why work on something for a long time only to use it a few times. Neutral colors make it easy to see all the details.

  5. Lynne Baltzer says:

I love the idea of creating my wardrobe from knit items. I’d start with a cardigan, worn year round here in Iowa
