Bashful Knit Lace Hat

Don’t be bashful, grab your needles and yarn and make a hat for yourself! The Bashful Knit Lace Hat pattern is the perfect balance of sophistication and style.

Bashful Knit Lace Hat

This is an updated version of an original Marly Bird design. The yarn has since been discontinued but the pattern is everlasting. I just love this hat because of the shine and the drape. The coupling of baby cables and simple lace really makes this pattern stand out.

It is easy enough for advanced beginners to try out as long as you are comfortable with charts. The entire pattern on the body is a chart.

NOTES

If you want to be sure you have a safety net as you knit, adding a lifeline to your project every so often will be helpful. Just to make sure you have a point to rip back to if something goes wrong. (video help)

The original yarn had a hint of silk which gave it a nice shine and drape. Choose a yarn that will do the same for you.

To get the full effect of lace stitches it is very important that you wash and block your piece when finished to let those yarn overs open up.
